Mt. kailash is the most sacred mountain In the Himalaya. It is also known to be the mythical Mt. Mera, the centre of the universe. Revered both by the Hindus and Buddhist alike, this place is a Mecca for pilgrims to visit once in their lifetime. From Kathmandu we fly to Simikot in west Nepal and commence trekking through remote Humla region before reaching the Tibetan plateau.  On arrival at the Nepal/Tibet border we will be then transported to the base of Mt. Kailash. We then trek the pilgrim trail around Kailash , crossing the rugged Drolma la ( 5630 meters ) before transferring to the shores of lake Mansarovar to spend time camping along its sacred waters. Our return journey traverses the Tibetan plateau close to the snow capped Himalayan range before descending the sun koshi gorge to Zhangmu and Kathmandu valley.
