Canyoning is a relatively new adventure sport introduced in Nepal only in 1997. It shares a similar experience to trekking and mountaineering, but is unique in its own way as it consists of a combination of abseiling, sliding, climbing down steep waterfalls and jumping into deep pools. It is an extreme sport geared to the ultimate sport enthusiast. The main advantage of canyoning is that you can access forbidden areas such as otherwise unreachable places around waterfalls. From sheer cliffs and slides to pounding waterfalls, you will experience all the joys of canyoning. If you love nature, like getting down and dirty and want to go on an adventure through a terrain of lush forest, water ways and surprises, then canyoning is the sport for you.

Despite all the fun and excitement, this sport requires specialist assistance. We have professional instructors with sound knowledge of aquatic environment and together with continual vigilance and necessary equipment, we explore these ruggedly beautiful, yet forbidden places in a natural environment.

Canyoning at the Borderlands Falls                                                                  2 days ex Kathmandu

Located a mere three hours north of Kathmandu and approx 16 kms south of the Tibetan border, the Borderlands waterfall is truly magical and an exciting spot for adventure seekers. The first descent begins at the very edge of a 45m waterfall, we abseil another 25m down a steep canyon, past a wild rock formation through powerful blasts of water. At the end of the excursion, we slide into a pool within the canyon walls and swim out between narrow boulders.

 

ITINERARY

Day 01: Drive to the borderlands falls and instruction on techniques and training followed by a half                   day canyoning.

Day 02:  Full day on the canyon with lunch.

Day 03:  Breakfast and drive back to Kathmandu.


Cost: US$ 150 per person (ex Kathmandu)

Cost Includes: All ground transportation, accommodation at the resort and all meals. International instructors, training and rope tying techniques, wet suit, climbing harness and helmet.

Not Included: Insurance, alcoholic beverages and expense of personal nature.
