Bhote Koshi
2 days ex Kathmandu
Bhote Koshi

The Bhote koshi is by far one of the most exhilarating, adrenaline pumping two- day trips found anywhere. With its stunning location, thrilling drops, and unusual limestone rock formations, Bhote Koshi is a  continuous action packed river run in Nepal. Drawing its amazing power from high up in Bhot (Tibet), the river tumbles into Nepal through breathtaking gorges. Glacial waters from the world’s 10th highest mountain, Shisa Pangma, carve steep drops that gradually ease to calmer waters within its 46-km run.

Day 01: Departure from Kathmandu to the river put-in-point, approx 3 hours from Kathmandu. Crew introductions then commence the river journey.

Day 02: Full day on the upper section of the Bhote Kosi, a real test of team work and co operation.  End of the trip and drive back to Kathmandu.

On the river

There are no rules to running rivers. To enjoy, feel and learn, we ask that you be flexible and open to the ever changing situations. We rise with the sun, eat a hearty breakfast, load the rafts and begin our day. On the rive we paddle hard through countless rapids and cruise the water in between. Lunch is alongside the river on a sandy beach around noon. A typical day consists of about 4-6 hours spent on the river, time dependent upon our choice of spectacular riverside campsites.

Physical fitness

You do not have to be an athlete to join our trips. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended though, as it will add to the enjoyment of your adventure. However, we do suggest good swimming ability, although non swimmer can also be accommodated. Our high buoyancy life jackets and helmets mean there is little chance of getting in trouble, should you fall in.

Safety is the number one priority on our river trips and our outstanding records shows just that. To ensure a safe trip, we employ some of the world's most experienced rafting guides. All our guides are professionally certified and skilled in running whitewater expeditions. All major rapids are scouted prior to any run and accompanied by safety kayakers.
